The time has come to a few details about the next Kernow DAT event, hosted at Heartlands, Pool on the 20th September 2018.

We’re super excited to be partnering up Flat Packed Theatre to showcase a sneak peak at their new internet of things (IoT) powered performance. Not only will the Kernow DAT audience be the first to experience the new show, but we’ll open up a discussion with the team about how the immersive effects were achieved through a mix of common software technologies and industry standard theatre equipment.

Keep on reading for more details about the show and head to our website to get your tickets.

Hyde & Seek by Flat Packed Theatre

In a long-abandoned theatre languishing in one of the seedier corners of Victorian London an enigmatic stage-doorman weaves a grisly tale of the further misdeeds of Mr Hyde and his… ‘acquaintance’, the tormented genius Dr Jekyll.

A macabre ghost story with spatters of murky vaudevillian humour, puppetry, and song; Hyde & Seek is a rip-roaring thriller which expands on the world of Robert Louis Stevenson’s allegory on duality — Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Utilising innovative IoT LED lighting, chilling surround-soundscapes, a dash of Arduino plus a whole host of other unconventional technical wizardry…. Hyde & Seek is an intimate and lavishly visual story-telling experience. Ghostly figures are glimpsed briefly before vanishing, characters appear out of nowhere, and what you can’t quite see becomes a lot more disconcerting than what you can…

Digital Plymouth — Save the date.

Digital Plymouth is back on the 13th September with three amazing talks at the fantastic waterfront venue, The Loft, in Plymouth.

The first speaker to be announced is Jordan Barkway, Software Development apprentice with Bluefruit Software. Jordan discovered her ideal career through the Software Cornwall Missions to Mars program and as a result, she now mentors new students starting out on their tech career too. Jordan is fresh off the Agile on the Beach stage and will be talking about My Road To Success, Plus 3 Tips For How To Get Into Tech.

Digital Plymouth

Bristol-based recruitment firm Novate IT has been announced as sponsoring the ‘Best in Health Tech’ category at the South West Digital Awards.

The company was founded in 2005 with the aim of providing a true recruitment ‘consultancy’ service to clients throughout the UK, Europe and the US. Novate IT supports employers and applicants across the South West to ensure both parties find the best possible employment match. Digital is at the core of the company’s ability to deliver services — making it a perfect match for the inaugural South West Digital Awards.

The awards are alternative, region-wide awards, celebrating innovators from Swindon to Cornwall, without corporate bias or favours. An independent panel of judges took time to look at each entry within each category, awarding shortlist places to those they felt represented the excellence the South West has to offer.
