On March 2nd Kernow DAT is heading to The Poly, Falmouth for another evening of digital curiosity. Between our first two speakers, you’ll discover how you can supercharge creativity in your dreams as well use open data for the benefit of Cornwall’s communities.

Anne McCrossan — Cornwall Open Data Intitute

Anne will be giving an introduction to Open Data and the ODI to provide some background on how governments and companies are designing better services and products using open data. The talk will touch on how open data is being used to change the way we do things digitally, in the public sector and beyond. Using open data in our local communities can help build prosperity, sustainability and economic impact in Cornwall.

Anne focused on digital business modeling, designing data strategies and managing large-scale change across organisations. All of that is neatly encapsulated in Visceral Business’s Interaction Value mapping model. Anne is the Lead for the Open Data Institute in Cornwall.

Giz Edwards — YouTuber & Lucid Dreaming Coach

Lucid Dreaming is knowing that you are dreaming, whilst inside the dream. When recognising that you are in the dream the only limitation that you have is your imagination. You have boundless amounts of creative potential. This talk will give you an insight into the potential of Lucid Dreaming and how you can use it to help with problem-solving, public speaking, creative direction, and so much more.

Giz is a content creator for YouTube, focusing primarily on educational videos, teaching the skill of Lucid Dreaming. As a result, he started the online community Team Lucid Dream.

CFT Group — Direct Debit Reinvented

The lack of innovation in Direct Debits has driven the CFT Group founders since 2015 to embark on a journey destined to start a revolution in recurring payments. In today’s world of instant, why do we still put up with seven-day sign-up periods and three-day collection cycles? Why are merchants put through 1980s processes to collect 2018 revenues? And why do consumers still put up with arcane single-account rules and opaque debit information?

CFT Group believes they won’t for too much longer. Find out more.
